HOMEMADE ALMOND MYLK
this 3 ingredient almond milk is incredibly easy to make & you probably already have everything you need to do so! it’s creamy, delicious, & you’ll be saving yourself all the $$$. not to mention you get the pleasure of knowing exactly what ingredients you’re putting into it!
i usually go through a bottle of almond milk every 5 days or so… so i know that i for one will be saving my $6/bottle & will opt to make this myself.
how much almond milk can you expect to get out of this?
each batch according to the measurements below will yield you about 5 cups of almond milk. 1 pound of almonds will yield you about 3 batches. so in total you can expect 15 cups of almond milk per pound of almonds that you buy!
INGREDIENTS //
◡ 1 cup organic raw almonds; soaked & drained (soak overnight in cool filtered water, or for 1 hour in boiling filtered water)
◡ 5 cups filtered water
◡ pinch of salt
◡ optional ingredients // 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, 1 tbsp maple syrup
DIRECTIONS //
add soaked almonds (no need to take the skin off of the almonds, it will be strained out), water, salt, & any optional ingredients to a high speed blender
blend for 1-2 minutes until creamy & smooth
strain over a large bowl through a nut milk bag or use a thin dish towel
transfer to a sealable bottle/jar & store in fridge. will keep for 5 days. shake well before using & enjoy! :)
